Former Springboks mentor Jake White has been appointed Brumbies coach for four Super rugby seasons from 2012.
White, who won the 2007 World Cup with South Africa, was named as the new coach of the Canberra-based franchise today.
Brumbies chief executive Andrew Fagan confirmed the decision, which will see White take over from Tony Rea at the end of the current campaign.
Rea has been in the position since Andy Friend was sacked after just two rounds of the 2011 Super Rugby competition.
The Brumbies currently sit third on the five-team Australian conference ladder and 10th overall with just two wins from eight matches in 2011.
But White's first battle will be attempting to retain Wallabies skipper Rocky Elsom with the NSW Waratahs reportedly interested in bringing the forward back to Sydney in 2012.
