New All Blacks squad member Beauden Barrett has been rested by the Hurricanes for the match against Australian conference leaders the Brumbies in Wellington on Friday.
First-five Barrett, 21, included in the All Blacks frame for the first time when named in Steve Hansen's 35-player training squad for next month's Ireland tests, has been named on the reserves bench after starting all 11 games for the Hurricanes this season.
Tusi Pisi has recovered from a calf strain and will wear the No 10 jersey.
The only other change to the starting XV that beat the Highlanders in Dunedin last weekend is the naming of another new All Blacks squad member, Brad Shields, at blindside flanker ahead of Faifili Levave.
On the reserves bench, lock James Broadhurst returns after recovering from a side strain and outside back Jayden Hayward is in the number 22 jersey.
