The Hurricanes will field a side featuring three starting changes for their Super 14 rugby match against the Western Force at New Plymouth on Saturday.
Former All Blacks captain Tana Umaga has been sidelined with an injured calf muscle, prompting Ma'a Nonu to be shifted into second five-eighth from the left winger. Hosea Gear comes in to fill the wing berth.
There are two changes to the tight five, with lock Paul Tito replacing Luke Andrews and prop John Schwalger introduced for his Super 14 debut in place of Joe McDonnell.
In two changes to the backline reserves, Tamati Ellison and Tane Tu'ipulotu come in for David Holwell and Shannon Paku.
