Howlett on bench for Blues

Returning All Black winger Doug Howlett can only make the Blues bench for Friday's Super 14 game against the Force.

Isa Nacewa shifts out to the right wing with Luke McAlister back at first five, so there is no room for Howlett.

In the pack, All Blacks Tony Woodcock and Ali Williams are being rested, with Saimone Taumoepeau and new boy Anthony Boric replacing them respectively.

Blues coach David Nucifora says it is good to have a fully fit Luke McAlister.

Nucifora says McAlister is much better for getting game time in the win over the Stormers.

David Nucifora has also listed Daniel Braid at openside flanker, back from a hamstring strain.
