The struggling Highlanders will be without some key players for Friday's Super 14 rugby match against the Waratahs at Invercargill.
Injuries have sidelined lock Tom Donnelly (ankle) prop Jamie Mackintosh (foot), No 10 Michael Hobbs (hand) Sean Romans (hamstring) and Jason Macdonald (Achilles).
There is uncertainty at first five-eighth too with Robbie Robinson and Matt Berquist bracketed.
