Blues halfback Piri Weepu proved his doubters wrong while little known Cornell Du Preez topped all scorers in round seven action.
Blues v Highlanders
Blues halfback Piri Weepu proved his doubters wrong by scoring 32 Fantasy points in his side's win over the Highlanders on Friday. Front rower Angus Ta'avao was also a standout for the home side scoring 31 points while back rower Steven Luatua had 23. John Hardie was the Highlanders top scorer with 18.
Brumbies v Kings
The first draw of the Super 15 season produced a lot more points for Southern Kings players. Cornell Du Preez (34) and Wimpie van Der Walt (33) both boosted their scoring efforts with tries while Brumbies try-scorer Joseph Tomane was his side's top scorer with 12.
Sharks v Crusaders
Patrick Lambie led the way with his boot at Durban making seven successful attempts to finish with 25 Fantasy points. Andy Ellis scored the only try of the match but only ended the game with six points. Yet again Matt Todd led the Crusaders (19 points) while eight Sharks players make double fugures.
Hurricanes v Waratahs
The Savea brothers were superb with the Hurricanes with Julian scoring 33 points and Ardie close behind with 29 in his Super 15 debut. Hurricanes forwards Motu Matu'u (28) and Reg Goodes (25) also had big scoring games while eight successful kicks gave Beauden Barrett 21. There wasn't much on offer in the Waratahs camp - Adam Ashley-Cooper and Israel Folau the best of the slim pickings with 14 points each.
