Nick Evans is set to return to the Highlanders starting side for Friday night's Super 12 game against the Brumbies at Carisbrook.
Evans will come back into first five with Cameron McIntyre dropping to the bench.
Evans is now over that hamstring injury which kept him sidelined for three weeks.
He says he has had a lot of rehabilitation and treatment, and is not feeling the problem area at all.
Meanwhile, the Brumbies have been based in Queenstown over the last few days with Stephen Larkham still in doubt.
Larkham played a limited part in the team's latest training session in Queenstown, nursing an arm injury he suffered in last weekend's loss to the Blues.
He also has a slight fever and is feeling unwell.
Larkham will have a fitness test on Wednesday, although team management will give him until the captain's run on Friday before making a final decision on whether he will play.
