All Black lock Norm Maxwell has suffered an arm injury after he apparently fell through a plate glass window in the early hours of Sunday morning - following the Crusaders' Super 12 title win over the Waratahs in Christchurch.
A Crusaders spokesperson has confirmed Maxwell spent Sunday in hospital with an injury.
He failed to turn up to today's civic ceremony in Cathedral Square.
This comes just weeks after he was charged with assault following an incident at a Dunedin night club.
He was given diversion by the police.
Norm Maxwell leaves for Japan in the next few days - he has signed a contract with the Ricoh club.
