It seems probable the Super 12 game between the Highlanders and the Crusaders on Saturday night was the final call for the famous terrace at Carisbrook, and the ground may never be the same again.
The terrace, the last of its kind in New Zealand, is to be cut in half when seats are installed before the Otago-Lions game on June 18. There will still be room for 4000 to 5000 fans to stand at the Hillside end of the ground, but the plum spots on halfway will be gone.
