Blues rugby flanker Daniel Braid will miss the remainder of the Super 14 due to a knee injury.
Braid suffered a medial ligament tear of his knee during the win over the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last weekend and is expected to be sidelined for two-to-four weeks.
He wasn't named in the team to face the Cats in Johannesburg on Sunday morning (NZ time), with his place going to Onosa'i Tololima-Auva'a.
The injury will also see him miss the final round-robin match at home to the Chiefs a week later.
The Blues only have a faint mathematical chance of reaching the semifinals.
"It is a shame, but injuries are part of the game," Braid said.
"The good news is that it is not as bad as first thought and I'll be back playing soon."
