Blues thump Stormers in fight-back win

The Blues have surged up to third on the Rebel Sport Super 12 points table after thumping the Stormers 37-24 in Cape Town.

The Blues rallied from 24-nil down after 20 minutes to score 37 unanswered points in a 6 tries to 3 romp.

The Chiefs' top four chances are gone after losing 29-26 to the Bulls in Pretoria. The Bulls led 23-9 at the break and held on to stay in semi final contention.

Meanwhile the Crusaders are up to second after beating the Cats 40-36 in Christchurch.

The Crusaders scored five tries to four in an error ridden performance and captain Reuben Thorne says it was a game he would rather forget.

Thorne says the team made hard work of a match players are not proud of, but he says the important thing is they got through it.

Andrew Mehrtens' two conversions and three penalties have made him the all time leading points scorer in the Super 12.

The Reds have beaten the Sharks 30-25 in Brisbane.
