Coach Frans Ludeke insisted that despite 14 changes to his Bulls lineup that were sure to provoke his Australian and New Zealand counterparts, the Super 14 rugby champions were not weakened.
Having already sewn up a home semifinal, Ludeke named a second-string side overnight (NZT) to play South African rival the Stormers on Sunday in the last round of the regular season.
The selection is bound to anger Australian and New Zealand sides who could overtake the Stormers in the race for second place and a home semifinal in the final standings.
