Former All Black Aaron Mauger has been named as the new Highlanders coach.
Originally signed on as an assistant coach for 2018 earlier this year, he has been elevated to the top role replacing Tony Brown.
It's the former All Blacks second-five's first head coaching role in New Zealand, following a period as assistant coach with the Crusaders and head coach of English side Leicester.
The 46-test All Black was recently an assistant coach with Samoa for their one-test at Eden Park.
