DURBAN - Scotland will put their faith in a heavyweight pack and an unfamiliar South Africa midfield in the second test tomorrow.
South Africa won the first test 36-16 in Durban last Sunday and Scotland have reacted by making six changes, four of them among the forwards.
For South Africa Jean de Villiers and Jaque Fourie, centres in Durban, have been forced out by rib injuries and Wynand Olivier and Andre Snyman will take their places.
Scotland lock Alastair Kellock, among the new faces in the starting lineup, said on Thursday his side had their work cut out to compete with the South Africans up front.
"These guys are big, but if we hit them hard we can get on to the front foot," Kellock, who will win his 11th test cap, said.
Jon Petrie, who comes into the side at No 8, said the match was the last in a long season for Scotland and that alone should motivate his team.
"It's the last effort of the season for everyone, so there's no reason to leave anything behind," he said.
Left wing Simon Webster, first five-eighths Gordon Ross, hooker Dougie Hall and tighthead prop Craig Smith are the other new faces.
Coach Frank Hadden said South Africa's centres were "not as good as the two who started last week".
For South Africa, coach Jake White said the injuries gave him the chance to experiment.
"Wynand and Andre can make a big statement by playing well for us against Scotland," said White. Bryan Habana's return from injury is good news. Fullback Percy Montgomery needs six points to become the first South African to score 600 points in test rugby.
