Former All Black captain Taine Randell celebrated a rare Saracens victory yesterday, but admitted his side were disappointed not to have secured a bonus point in the English premiership after seeing off fellow strugglers Leeds 27-3.
"That was a big win for us," Randell said. "The result was a fair reflection of the game but we are disappointed not to get the bonus point."
Only 6-3 ahead at halftime at their Vicarage Rd home, Saracens delighted their fans after the interval with tries to France internationals Thomas Castaignede and World Cup hooker Raphael Ibanez, and a penalty try.
The result meant Leeds stayed 10th and Saracens 11th in the 12-team premiership.
