He said the French played well but that has to be expected in a World Cup quarter-final. Wyllie, All Black coach from 1988 to 1991, has some questions around the selections of the side that ran out at Cardiff. "The backline hadn't played together before. Carter was injured but he was still put on and then taken off."
Wyllie said the public needs to remember that no team loses on purpose - but there were elements from the campaign to be looked at. "We had wingers that are meant to be speedsters but how many times were they given the ball?"
