An injury to Colin Slade during today's All Blacks 79-15 World Cup victory over Canada in Wellington has thrown another scare into the camp.
On the day Dan Carter was ruled out for the rest of the tournament, Slade, now the All Blacks' top-ranked first-five, left the field with what looked like an ankle injury.
Slade limped off the field after 64 minutes, with loose forward Victor Vito having to move to the right wing.
Slade played at first-five for 51 minutes before moving to the wing after Piri Weepu took the field for Mils Muliaina. Israel Dagg, in the No14 jersey, moved to fullback.
With much scrutiny on Slade following Carter's exit from the tournament due to a groin injury, the 23-year-old had a shaky start, his attempted clearance charged down in the opening minute which led to Canada opening the scoring with a penalty.
