England's failure to reach the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup has shown in the latest World Rugby rankings with the tournament hosts dropping to their worst ever position.
Following Sunday's 33-13 defeat to Australia, England dropped to eighth place in the world rankings, moving down two spots from sixth.
Samoa have also dropped to an all-time low, moving down four places to 15th following a 26-5 defeat to Japan.
The All Blacks remain the number one side in the world with Australia moving up from third to second, leapfrogging their next opponents Wales.
South Africa have moved up to fourth, after dropping to sixth two weeks ago in the wake of their opening World Cup defeat to Japan.
