Rugby World Cup: All Blacks wives and girlfriends getting social media love

They may not have quite reached the hype of the German football team's wives and girlfriends but the All Blacks' partners are getting a lot of love on social media.

Fatima Antaqi-Savea, winger Julian Savea's wife, shared a photo of herself at Paris's famous Louvre museum with Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa in the background.

Mrs Antaqi-Savea posted the pictures of her trip to Paris on Twitter.

Black Stick Gemma Flynn, the girlfriend of All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, has posted a photo of the pair visiting the borough of Richmond to her personal Instagram account which has gained more than 1400 likes in the past day.

"Relaxing afternoon in Richmond...feeling extra fresh with this weather and new do," Flynn wrote in the caption.

Flynn previously drew attention with a picture of her and McCaw dressed up as cat woman and batman, and has since posted a picture outside Cardiff stadium and video from the All Blacks quarter final match against France.

Last year, the wives and girlfriends of the German national football team received a lot of attention during the 2014 Fifa World Cup for their looks.

Caroline McNaught, the girlfriend of All Blacks back-up centre Malakai Fekitoa has also been documenting the pair's adventures on social media.

She posted a picture to her personal Instagram of the couple at the London Eye yesterday which has garnered more than 800 likes.

The caption read: "Best day with this little cutie".

Meanwhile, Dan Carter's wife former Black Stick Honor Carter has been tweeting her support. After the All Blacks quarterfinal victory last Sunday she posted: "You just get better with age @dancarter #likeaspringchicken #loveyourworkABs ;-)"
Her message was retweeted 29 times and received 125 favourites.

All Blacks coach Steve Hanson has said the wives and girlfriends are key contributors to the All Blacks' Rugby World Cup campaign.

"I guess if I turned that around and said to you about how important would it be to have your family here, you would say the same thing - that it is great to have your loved ones and the people that know you the best [here], it's important," stuff.co.nz reported.

"But also having the understanding that there is times when I have to go to where I have to go to, to be a rugby player.

"And as long as that still happens, which it does, and everyone is well aware of that. Then there is no problems."
