As a lock, Brodie Retallick is used to getting roughed up on the field - but his latest injury was part of the parcel of scoring the first try against France yesterday.
Following the Rugby World Cup 2015 quarter-final between the All Blacks and France, Retallick was seen sporting an impressive black eye.
It turns out this injury can be blamed on Retallick scoring the debut try of the match - during which he took a ball in the face from Frederic Michalak's kick as he charged down the field.
"That's where the ball got me on the charge down, square in the eye," he told One News. "[It's] come off the head rather than the hand, so that's lucky."
