Rugby: Northern refs to dominate World Cup

Northern Hemisphere referees look set to dominate the appointments for the Rugby World Cup.

The appointments are due to be made today.

Bryce Lawrence is set to be New Zealand's only participant although Steve Walsh could get the nod under the Australian banner.

South Africa's Jonathan Kaplan and Craig Joubert will also be named with the other six referees from the Northern Hemisphere.

England's Wayne Barnes is expected to be among them.
