KEY POINTS:
New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) chief executive Chris Moller is to step down from his post at the end of the year.
NZRU chairman Jock Hobbs said in a statement this morning current deputy chief executive Stew Tew has been appointed chief executive designate to replace Moller when he steps down on December 31.
Moller, who has been in the position for five years, said he had been apart of three Rugby World Cup campaigns and believed it is healthy for the organisation to make timely changes in its leadership.
Hobbs said the Board had decided to appoint Tew as CEO designate at this time to ensure that there was a seamless transition when Moller steps down at the end of the year.
