KEY POINTS:
PARIS - Samoan veteran Brian Lima was cited on Monday for a dangerous tackle on England's Jonny Wilkinson during yesterday's (NZT) 44-22 rugby World Cup pool A loss to England in Nantes, adding further woe to the beleaguered islanders.
Lima, 35, the only player to play in five World Cups and who will retire from the game at the end of the season, will face a disciplinary hearing tonight which could bring his illustrious tournament campaign to a premature end.
Lima was reported by match citing commissioner Steve Hines, of New Zealand, for an incident in the second half of the match when he dived towards the prone English five-eight-eighth.
Samoa, who have lost all three games to date, play the United States in St Etienne on Thursday (6am, NZ time) and are already hard-hit by injuries with 12 of their original 30 now ruled out.
In yesterday's game flanker Daniel Leo broke his wrist, No 8 Henry Tuilagi hurt a shoulder and halfback Junior Polu suffered concussion. All three will miss the final match, as will prop Fosi Palaamo, who is going home early for personal reasons.
