KEY POINTS:
England's star first five-eighths Jonny Wilkinson has declared himself available for selection for his side's crucial pool match against Samoa on the weekend.
England also called up Toby Flood to replace injured centre Jamie Noon.
Flood, Wilkinson's back-up at Newcastle, was unlucky not to make the original squad and brings a degree of flair and creativity to a squad that has shown precious little of either in their two games to date.
"We had a big problem last week with goalkicking and we don't want to be in that position again," coach Brian Ashton told a news conference. "And Toby can cover two positions as well (first five-eighths and centre)."
England were without a recognised first five-eighths in Friday's 36-0 defeat by South Africa, with both Wilkinson and Olly Barkley injured.
Wilkinson wrote in his column in The Times: "I'm fit now, fit enough to be scheduled to take part in all the team's training sessions this week. I am, as we stand, now available for selection."
Ashton said he was also hopeful that Barkley might make Saturday's game in Nantes.
England have also summoned prop Stuart Turner to provide cover in case of any injuries befalling the three props in the squad, as captain Phil Vickery is suspended.
Noon travelled home on Monday after his tournament was ended by a knee ligament injury sustained in the last minute of Friday's match.
Winger Jason Robinson damaged a hamstring in the game but hopes to be fit to play again later in the tournament.
"I'm fine, I'm hoping to be available for the Tonga game (on September 28), that's my goal and I'm quite optimistic," said Robinson.
"I've got nothing to lose. I'll be out on the field today doing some jogging so I'll take it one day at a time."
