PARIS - France skipper Raphael Ibanez was suspended for a week on Sunday for stamping on an opponent in the World Cup third place play-off.
The ban will rule Ibanez out of the Anglo-Welsh Cup match between his London Wasps club side and Newport Gwent on Saturday.
The French veteran was cited for stamping on Argentinian second row forward Rimas Alvarez Kairelis at the end of the first half of the bronze medal match which the Pumas won 34-10 at the Parc des Princes on Friday.
He was also yellow-carded for the offence.
