KEY POINTS:
Stage II in Spygate and New Zealand have infiltrated the French camp at the World Cup.
Not under cover of darkness either but by booking a Cardiff hotel last year on the assumption the All Blacks would win their pool and with the hope they would be allocated their usual digs.
The plan was going well until All Blacks manager Darren Shand drew a marble which gave his side the second choice of quarter-final accommodation in Cardiff.
France chose to stay at the Hilton Hotel in the middle of the city and the All Blacks were bumped out to the rural Vale of Glamorgan. It is a peaceful retreat, almost disarming though New Zealand Rugby Union chief executive Chris Moller warned that they remained on full security and espionage alert.
Meanwhile, some NZRU staff already booked into the Hilton Hotel have been gathering some whimsical looks from French officials who recognised them.
The New Zealand invasion will increase with the NZRU scheduled to hold a board meeting at the same venue later this week while friends, family and other guests will ramp up the Kiwi content around the Tricolores.
