There are a range of versions of what happened at a late hour in Cardiff in 1972. To get to the nub of the matter, Keith Murdoch, an immensely powerful prop forward and a man possessed of a short fuse, punched a security guard and was dispatched into rugby ignominy.
Meads sent off
With a comfortable 14-3 victory over Scotland in the bag in 1967 a spur of the moment act resulted in Colin Meads being sent off for dangerous play, just the second All Black to be dismissed in a test at the time.
