All Black prop Tony Woodcock's left foot is just out of a moonboot.
He has not played a Super 15 match for six weeks and there is no guarantee he will return in the next month.
But medics have no worries about his fitness for the World Cup.
"There is no concern there at all," Blues doctor Stephen Kara said.
"He will be fine for that. We have been very conservative in his treatment and having him ready for a return to rugby."
Woodcock suffered a mid-foot injury which Crusaders wing Sean Maitland has also endured.
Woodcock was injured against the Rebels in mid-April and in the last week has been allowed to remove his moonboot. He has started walking in the pool and doing calf exercises to help arrest some muscle wastage while his ankle is also a bit stiff.
The Blues medics hope to increase the 74-test prop's workload next week.
"As a frontrower he loads his foot big-time at scrummaging so if we don't get that right there will be problems down the line," Kara said. "We could get him out there because he is a very tough man but he would run the risk of having chronic midfoot pain in six months' time."
