There is serious uncertainty around what roles, if any, Kieran Read and Adam Thomson will play for the All Blacks at Rugby World Cup 2011.
Thomson appears to be in most doubt for the tournament after injuring his elbow, while Read's injured ankle could see him miss a couple of early matches.
Coach Graham Henry is confident Read will be ready to go when the tournament gets serious.
Henry says it doesn't look good for Thomson after he hyper extended his elbow, but they're not rushing in a replacement just yet.
Both players are having scans in Christchurch to diagnose the severity of each injury.
