Blair Cowan, the Kiwi forward who was a surprise omission from the Scotland squad, has been called up by coach Vern Cotter.
The London Irish loosie replaces lock Grant Gilchrist, who suffered a groin injury in the win over the USA at Elland Road.
Cowan said: "The coaches know what I can do. I don't need to prove myself. I just want to come up here and be positive. Even if it's just in training, I'll just bring some energy. And if I'm called up to play - just show me the jersey."
Cowan missed out on the original selection when coach Vern Cotter went for John Hardie, the Highlander who had only just arrived in Scotland.
The Wellington-born Cowan, aged 29, has played 13 tests.
