KEY POINTS:
CAPE TOWN - Springbok coach Jake White has bowed to pressure from his rugby board and postponed his planned meeting with South African President Thabo Mbeki.
White, who requested Friday's meeting, was asked to cancel it by the South African Rugby Union (SARU) because "internal protocol" had not been followed.
"I will not be meeting with President Mbeki," White said today.
"Out of respect for the leadership of SARU and in the best interests of rugby I've requested the meeting be postponed. The Presidency kindly obliged."
The Springboks, who have won three out of three tests in 2007, meet Australia in the opening game of the Tri-Nations at Newlands on Sunday (NZ time).
