West Coast overcame a 0-22 deficit at halftime to beat King Country 24-22 in a crucial Meads Cup Heartland rugby match in Taupo today.
With the win, West Coast have set up a semifinal meeting next Saturday away to Wanganui.
King Country who needed a bonus-point win, bagged four tries in the first half through Luke Draper, Jarrod Higgins, Tony Chamberlain, Hone Wanden. Only one was converted by Jarred Murrell.
"We had a strong wind behind us in the first half but West Coast got that in the second half and deserved their win," King Country coach Brett Coombe said.
West Coast roared back in the second half to score three tries through Andrew Gatsby, Erony Uluidurogu and Brad Houston.
Corey Simpson converted all the tries and added a penalty to seal the win.
