Rugby: Wellington whip Waikato

Wellington have shown they are well and truly ready for the NPC semifinals with a 48-23 demolition of Waikato at WestpacTrust Stadium.

Brad Fleming scored two tries, including a spectacular solo effort to stamp out a Waikato come-back, while Jason O'Halloran, Tana Umaga, Jonah Lomu and Jerry Collins each added one try.

Todd Miller and Rhys Duggan scored tries for Waikato.

Wellington led 21-9 at halftime.
