Bay of Plenty have boosted their tight five stocks by signing locks Daniel Quate and Luke Andrews for this year's national provincial rugby competition.
Japanese test player Quate, 30 has previously represented Southland and Hawke's Bay while former Hurricane Andrews, 34, has been playing for the Naceto club in Italy, helping them win promotion to that country's Super 10 competition next season. Bay of Plenty will be Andrew's fourth province, having also played for Southland, Otago and Wellington.
It has been a busy off-season for Bay of Plenty, with other signings including All Blacks winger Lelia Masaga, Tasman frontrowers Tristan Moran and Daniel Perrin, Hawke's Bay first-five Dan Waenga and Otago midfielder Brett Mather.
