Wellington Stadium security guards will get extra training after an over-the-top tackle on a female pitch invader during the All Blacks-France test a week ago.
Police met with Red Badge Security yesterday discuss the tackle and an earlier incident at another game, The Dominion Post reported.
Red Badge Security regional manager Phil Gollings said the most recent tackle had been reviewed and agreed excessive force had been used.
He said extra training would be given to security guards in such roles.
Inspector Greg Gilpin said the security company had acknowledged last weekend's tackle was "a bit aggressive" but he was sure the guard didn't intend to injure the pitch invader.
The 22-year-old Englishwoman, along with a 25-year-old Frenchman, who went on to the pitch last weekend were granted diversion at an appearance in Wellington District Court yesterday and ordered to make a donation to a charity.
