The New Zealand round of the Sevens World Series will be remaining in Wellington.
As reported in the Herald on Sunday, New Zealand Rugby is expected to announce a decision on the future of the Sevens after a board meeting tomorrow, but it's understood a call has been made and the tournament is staying in the capital.
The contract in Wellington expired this year, after three years of declining crowds and speculation the tournament could head elsewhere.
It's not yet known how long the new contract will be for, but it'll be good news for the Wellington City Council, who didn't want to lose it.
