The All Blacks Sevens ended the Sevens World Series in style by winning their fifth cup in London.
They had to do it the hard way, coming from 21-0 down to defeat Australia 52-33 in the event final at Twickenham.
New Zealand had already secured the overall title ahead of South Africa before they arrived in London.
But they showed they were still hungry for more success after Australia, who were looking to give coach Michael O'Connor a winning send-off in his final match, raced into the lead.
England, who had lost 15-12 to Australia in the semi-finals, secured third place with a 26-19 win over Fiji, narrowly beaten 12-10 by New Zealand earlier.
