Sean Horan has stood down from coaching the New Zealand women's sevens team, clearing the way for him to be considered for the now vacant men's job.
Horan has said he will take a break from the game and consider some options.
New Zealand Rugby will shortly advertise for the next New Zealand women's sevens coach for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
