South Africa shocked Fiji to win the Las Vegas sevens today for their first title of the year.
After earlier disposing of joint series leaders England in the semifinals, South Africa proved too strong for Fiji winning 24-14.
Earlier Fiji knocked New Zealand out the tournament beating the Wellington sevens champions 26-7.
Despite semifinal exits New Zealand and England remain joint leaders of the IRB sevens series after four rounds.
The next event is the Hong Kong sevens in March.
