The New Zealand Sevens team will play their Australian counterparts in a curtain-raiser to the Waratahs and the Crusaders game at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on Sunday.
New Zealand sevens coach Gordon Tietjens said: "Any match-up against our transtasman neighbours is always a great occasion and neither team takes the other lightly. The match also provides a great chance for us to get some game time against a quality opposition before we head off to the UK.''
The full New Zealand Sevens squad, as well as Bay of Plenty's Jack Wilson and Waikato's Joe Webber and Johnathon Malo, will travel to Australia for the match.
The team to travel to the final legs of the sevens world series in Scotland and England to be played over the following two weekends will be named after the match.
