Sonny Bill Williams was in the stands to watch sister Niall make her debut for the New Zealand women's sevens team but the side suffered a shock defeat in the opening round of the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series in Dubai.
All Blacks Sonny Bill Williams, who is set to star for the men's sevens team this season, tweeted a photo with Niall after she came off the bench in New Zealand's 21-12 opening win over France.
The three-time series winners then went onto beat Olympic hosts Brazil 36-5 before suffering an upset loss in their final group A fixture, going down to Russia 33-7.
New Zealand will now face Australia in the quarter-finals tonight. In other quarters, Canada play England, Fiji take on France and Russia play Spain.
