The return from injury of captain DJ Forbes is the feature of the New Zealand sevens rugby team today named to play the fifth and sixth legs of the world series, at Hong Kong from March 25-27 and Adelaide, Australia, from April 2-3.
Forbes missed the fourth leg at Las Vegas, Nevada, last month because of a hamstring injury, but has recovered sufficiently for coach Gordon Tietjens to include his skipper in a 12-man squad.
New Zealand are tied at the top with England after four tournaments and Tietjens has put both tournaments in the "must-win" basket.
"Hong Kong is always a great tournament to play and this is one we really want to win as there are more points on offer with 24 teams participating," he said.
"The players know both of these tournaments are a must-win if we want to move ahead of England on the leaderboard."
NZ squad: DJ Forbes (captain), Toby Arnold, Tomasi Cama, Scott Curry, Rory Grice, Frank Halai, Bryce Heem, Solomon King, Tim Mikkelson, Declan O'Donnell, Buxton Popoalii, Lote Raikabula.
