Jarryd Hayne is a step closer to realising his Olympic dream after being named in Fiji's 12 man squad for this weekend's London Sevens.
Hayne has been named in Fiji's squad for the London Sevens, despite only landing in London on Monday, hours after quitting the NFL where he played last year as a running back for the San Francisco 49ers.
He cited the August Rio Olympics as his primary motivation for walking out on a lucrative NFL contract to link up with the world No.1 Fiji sevens side.
Fiji can wrap up the sevens World Series by getting through to the Cup quarter-final in London, and coach Ben Ryan has opted for Hayne in his squad.
This weekend's Twickenham tournament is the last on this season's World Series circuit, and Hayne's best opportunity to convince Ryan he's a worthy member of the Olympic squad.
