USA rugby sevens speedster Carlin Isles has proven over the past few years that electric pace is just as exciting on the field as it is the track. But how does he stack up against Usain Bolt?

A study led by HSBC Rugby has found that Isles has a superior power-to-weight ratio than 100m-200m record holder Bolt and a higher top speed over 20 metres.

His 40 metre time is also better than any player in the NFL.

Isles holds a personal best of 10.13, which could have seen him qualify for the semi-finals of the London Olympics.

But Isles has chosen to represent Team USA on the sevens circuit and has been making a name for himself in the past few seasons.

He is unlikely to achieve a spot in the highly competitive USA track team for the Rio Olympics, but will fancy his chances to make the Games as a sevens player, as the sport is included at the Olympics for the first time in 2016.

With the All Blacks very secretive around player performance statistics it's hard to compare the quickest All Black to Isles or Bolt, but Julian 'Better than Jonah' Savea is surely still a more dangerous prospect on the wing than the American.

Then again he has lost a running race to Dane Coles.
