Injured South African first-five-eighth Patrick Lambie has revealed the extent of the repercussions of the concussion he suffered in June while playing against Ireland at Cape Town.
Lambie left the field after just 22 minutes into the match following a mid-air collision with Ireland flanker CJ Stander.
Although Stander was shown the red card as a result of the collision, the Springboks went on to lose 20-26, while Lambie suffered a concussion that has consequently ruled him out for the past three months.
Over the course of those past three months, Lambie revealed he had been waking up every day with a headache as a result of his collision with Stander.
"The thinking was that the trauma and the stress of the knocks against my head triggered a constant or chronic migraine. I had a low grade migraine for, I guess, three months," Lambie said on Monday.
