Otago and Highlanders player Lucky Mulipola has been suspended from all rugby for a month for misconduct after his involvement in an alleged physical altercation in Dunedin back in May.
Mulipola, 26, was censured by the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) this week following a meeting with NZRU's Neil Sorensen and Highlanders management.
Hi suspension lasts until Monday 7 September.
It related to an alleged incident, after which Mulipola was charged with assault with intent to injure. The matter is currently before the courts.
Mr Sorensen said that Mulipola had initially misled the Highlanders and NZRU about his involvement in the alleged incident. When he met with Mulipola, the player accepted that misleading the Highlanders and NZRU had shown poor judgment on his part.
