Former Manawatu and Horowhenua Kapiti coach Peter Kemp has been appointed coach of the New Zealand Heartland 15 side, the New Zealand Rugby Union announced today.
The New Zealand Heartland 15 side will play two matches in the United States in two months.
Games are scheduled against a Pacific Coast 15 on November 3 and a USA Select 15 on November 8.
Kemp has been involved in New Zealand rugby as player and coach for 22 years.
He coached Wanganui in 1991 and Manawatu in 2004 and Horowhenua Kapiti for four years until 2007.
In the mid-1990s he was a player-coach with Irish club side Mullingar.
Kemp's assistant coach will be Wanganui head coach Guy Lennox.
