EDINBURGH - Prop Marcus Horan has been ruled out the Ireland team to play Scotland in the Six Nations Championship on Sunday morning (NZT) after picking up a calf strain today.
The Ireland medical team will reassess the injury after the weekend to see if Horan will be fit to face Italy.
Simon Best moves off the bench to start his first Six Nations match at loosehead and Ulster prop Bryan Young has been called into the squad among the replacements as Ireland seek to secure the Triple Crown at Murrayfield.
Wing three-quarter Denis Hickie came through the morning's training session showing no reaction to a back spasm he suffered on Thursday. Geordan Murphy remains with the squad as a precaution.
