Richard Cockerill
A year after memorably challenging Norm Hewitt during the haka, the pair had a confrontation off the pitch, with a 1998 late-night fight between the England hooker and his counterpart leaving Cockerill with a black eye.
Lawrence Dallaglio
An inspirational skipper at his best, Dallaglio was forced to resign from the captaincy following allegations of hard drug use reported in the News Of The World.
Although the England Rugby Football Union dropped drugs charges against him, they imposed a fine of £15,000 for bringing the game into disrepute.
Jason Leonard
One of the most highly-regarded props in rugby history, Leonard was banned from driving for two years after being spotted weaving across the road and bouncing off kerbs in 2002.
He was recorded to be three times over the legal limit, and after two years of maintaining his innocence he eventually pled guilty to drink driving in 2004. Leonard was also fined £2,500 for his erratic driving - ironically in the same week he had a train named after him.
Olly Barkley
An England debutant at age 19, Barkley's international career came to a close just a year after a 2007 incident when he was arrested by police.
Barkley was involved in a fight in which one man was left with head injuries and a broken jaw, but was later released without charge.
Mike Brown and Topsy Ojo
A trip to New Zealand shores in 2008 did not go to plan for England, losing two tests and having four players accused of sexually violating an 18-year-old waitress after a 37-20 loss in Auckland.
The players were all cleared of the charges, but Brown and Ojo were found guilty of misconduct, Brown fined £1000 and Ojo £500 for staying out until 7.00am the following morning.
Mike Tindall
Tindall had a tumultuous 2011 Rugby World Cup, being fined £15,000 by the England Rugby Football Union for a dwarf throwing incident, before being caught on camera in a Queenstown bar getting up close and comfortable with a woman just six weeks after marrying the Queen's granddaughter, Zara Phillips.
Still, Tindall has no regrets over the incident.
"Do I have any regrets about the evening? No because I had a good time with a lot of the players that I enjoyed playing with, with a lot of fans who I enjoy spending time with," he told The Times.

Manu Tuilagi
Tuilagi has priors when it comes to off-field misbehaving, joining Tindall on the dishonour roll during the 2011 World Cup.
After England were dumped out of the tournament by France in the quarterfinals, the centre jumped into the Auckland harbour off the Waiheke ferry as it was coming into dock. He was detained by police and then fined £3000 by England management.
