Eddie Jones says England's forwards coach Steve Borthwick would have his blessing if he wants to take a job with the British & Irish Lions next summer.
Former England captain Borthwick - who began his coaching under Jones with Japan in 2014 before being controversially convinced to join England from Bristol by Jones last year - is understood to have been approached by Lions coach Warren Gatland to take charge of the forwards on next summer's tour to New Zealand.
Jones has already ruled himself out of any involvement on next summer's tour but, with England aiming to topple New Zealand as the world's No 1 team by the time they next face the world champions in November 2018, he is keen for his back-room staff to be involved.
Jones said: 'I am happy for all of my coaching team except me to be involved in the Lions and if they are offered a job I will encourage them to take the job and get down there and work out how to beat New Zealand because that is one of our aims.
'They can help us and the Lions. What a great opportunity to spend 10 weeks in New Zealand on the Lions tour.
